Surf Knit Board Cover - Longboard
A Passion for Eco Innovation
We didn’t create these board covers to dominate the market — we made them to prove it could be done. Each SurfKnit cover is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, sourced from the Atlantic Ocean and “ocean-bound” plastics collected in high-risk regions like Haiti where formal recycling systems don’t exist. Ocean plastic is a massive global problem, but recycling efforts are growing, and it takes companies like ours to turn this recovered material into useful, long-lasting products. This is our way of keeping plastic in circulation — and out of the sea.
Effortless, Improved Fit
Our first prototypes looked beautiful, but they were too much of a struggle to get on bulkier boards. We reworked the pattern and added flexibility, so now each cover offers a comfortable, easy fit even for higher-volume shapes. A simple roll-top closure with a magnetic Fid-Lock® buckle (made from ocean plastic, of course) keeps everything secure with one quick motion. The result is a board cover that’s as user-friendly as it is good-looking.
Thoughtful Fin Details
Single-fin longboards and mid-lengths deserve covers that actually work. We designed an oversized fin slot that accommodates fins at any point in the fin box, so you don’t have to remove your fin just to store your board. Your setup stays just the way you like it — ready to hit the water when you are.
Material, Reimagined
Instead of cutting and sewing fabric (and tossing the offcuts into the trash), we turned to knit-to-shape technology — a process that produces virtually zero waste. The result is a smooth, durable cover with only a few stray threads left over. To make these possible, we partnered with three global leaders in recycled ocean yarn: SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, REPREVE Our Ocean, and ECONYL. Together, we’ve built a premium knit cover that blends sustainability with performance.
Planting mangroves
Every Surf Knit Board Cover sold helps plant a mangrove with the SeaTrees Project. These coastal forests are nature’s quiet superheroes—locking away carbon, protecting shorelines, and keeping the oceans we love healthy. By choosing gear that gives back, you’re helping restore wild coastlines in Baja, Mexico, one tree at a time.
